Challenge A UN agency involved in setting global regulatory and operational technical standards in its sector was concerned that its spokespeople lacked the preparedness and ‘tools’ to face the media ahead of a major conference at which some controversial regulatory decisions would be made by member states.
Solution We sent out pre-training questionnaire ahead of a media coaching workshop to assess previous experience, areas of strengths and weakness and expected challenging areas with the media. Then working closely with a BBC/Financial Times freelance journalist, we prepared challenging interview scenarios for each spokesperson in their areas of expertise. We ran a full day workshop with a mix of teaching the theory of working with the media and real-life practice interviews in front of a camera.
Results The participants were challenged but improved at each interview, asking many pertinent questions, finessing their responses to tough questions and practicing them in a safe zone until they felt happy with facing the press at the conference a few weeks later.

Challenge A major Swiss bank wanted its 200 strong branding and communications team to develop a consultancy/trusted advisor mindset so they could add more value to internal stakeholders within the business.
Solution Using a training module over two days which involved an in depth complex case study, we role played multiple scenarios, interspersed with pedagogical sessions, to ensure participants practiced several real life situations where flexible and smart advisory skills were required.
Results With very positive feedback from participants and management, the training was hailed as one of the best training the trainees had every done.
